We have mentioned Marion the Robin who built a nest just off our deck about three weeks ago so we thought we would post a picture. We have enjoyed watching Marion and Howard tend this nest without fail. They have never left the nest unsupervised for any longer than 10 minutes at a time during the past three weeks...they deserve a parents of the month award! Abby kept Marion and Howard on their toes and today. There was so much activity around the nest that Abby decided she needed to sit guard just below. Marion flew to a nearby tree where she and Howard kept yapping at Abby from a distance...they were not happy with Miss Biz today! We knew that Abby was disturbing them so we tried to keep her away so the important feedings and tending could continue. We think the birdies will be flying away in a couple of days because today they were trying to spread their wings and the odd wing would come out over the edge of the nest before quickly being pulled safely back into the nest. There are four little birdies and there is no longer room in the condo for the growing teenagers. We had Abby's human sister Jayne and her boyfriend Francois over for a BBQ tonight and Abby snagged a chicken breast right off Francois' plate that was set down on a low wooden patio table for just a second...a second! Mamma quickly offered to exchange her chicken breast for the one Abby "sampled" and of course Francois accepted the unsampled chicken breast as quickly as it was offered!! LOL Oh what we won't do! We are not sure why Miss Biz decided to take food off the plate because it was not something she normally does but it was the perfect opportunity ....eating outside ...family visiting with extra activity ....plate left at nose level....it was like "HELLO? I am a dog!". We keep telling Abby that it is a good thing she is so darn cute. She continues to make us laugh with her antics, she is such a joy to have around. We love her to death and she loves us back even more. We know because she tells us everyday with her wagging tail and her many daily kisses. Until next time....
