Happy Birthday Canada!

July 1st is a holiday so everyone was home today. Abby had a pretty active Canada Day...oh yes her kind of day! As you can see, she is sporting her red and white scarf to be patriotic. We watched a bit television today to see Queen Elizabeth II, she was taking part in the Canada Day celebrations held in Ottawa. Although we had some rain today, that did not stop the celebrations in Fredericton and we managed to have a nice BBQ for supper and enjoyed strawberry short cake with whipped cream for dessert...yum! Can't get more Canadian than that, eh?
A little update on our baby birdies....they left the nest yesterday...sniff sniff. We are suffering from empty nest syndrome! Marion and Howard are still hanging around the nest and we spotted one of the little birds on the lawn last evening. We enjoyed three weeks of watching the little miracle take place right outside our patio door. I think we now know all about the egg laying, hatching and subsequent tending patterns of the Robin. Everytime we wondered what the parents were doing, we looked up information to better understand why they were doing what they did.
Miss Biz is flaked out in her flop bed after a full day. Imagine her surprise when in one day, we are home for two more days! Until next time...
