WHAT'S FOR SUPPER?

Abby had her friend Daisy come to visit for 10 days while Daisy's parents went to the Olympics in Vancouver. Although Daisy much prefers the company of other humans rather than dogs, she and Abby got along fine. Daisy was a perfect guest, and caught on to the daily routine within a day and as any good dog knows she knew the sound of the fridge door opening meant treats! Abby was quite jealous and whenever Daisy got some attention, there was Abby inserting herself into the middle of the loving. We kept assuring Abby that she was the girl of the house and the only girl for us.....tee hee Miss Daisy was a little hard on the toys so we have some mending to do.
As the snow melts and the sidewalks are clear of ice, Miss Abby has resumed long morning walks. She always get a morning walk but during the colder months the walks can sometimes be cut short. Abby continues to chase the big grey squirrels off the property, sending them scurrying up trees as she lunges from the patio door at 100 kilometers an hour! She runs so fast to the back of the yard that she has to start putting on the breaks and narrowly misses slamming right into the fence! After she has successfully chased the squirrels up the tree, she stands guard staring up the tree for any movement. Same chase every time.
As we are planning our annual Winter trip south, we are trying to secure accommodations for Miss Abby. We wish we could pack her to go with us because we can't imagine being away from her for 15 days but we can't take her with us........this time. Until next time....
