I NEED to be in the middle of things.
In late September Abby had a very nice house sitter stay with her and her 3 feline siblings for 15 days while her parents were away on vacation in Scotland and Ireland, she was a good girl. Abby turned 3 years old on October 1st and is still such a good little girlie. Baby Vivianne turned 1 year old in mid November and she and Abby have become best friends. It is so cute to watch Vivianne feed Abby cheerios one at a time. She hands out one cheerio and Abby gently nibbles them from her hand. Abby sits patiently and waits for another cheerio to be presented or better yet, some to be dropped on the floor. Abby had her pet photo with Santa taken this year with baby Vivianne on Santa's other knee!!
We have had a couple of trips to the Vet over the Fall with the same ongoing anal sac issue but keep on top of the problem and everything has been okay for a while.
We have had no snow to speak of so Abby continues to enjoy zooming around her yard at record speed, just like Summer. However, one particular evening in early December after a small sprinkle of snow she was outside running like a race horse at full speed but when she got close to Momma she slipped and instead of going around, like she usually does, she ran right into her Momma and took her right off her feet! Crash...Momma ended up flat on her back staring at the stars.
Abby's house was full at Christmas time with baby Vivianne and her parents as well as her sister and brother-in-law from Toronto. Abby enjoyed opening all her gifts (pictures above) and she received a special Christmas delivery from her Foster Mother, Delia. The doggie night light was just sweet. Thanks Delia for thinking of little Abby.
Abby continues to enjoy her nursing home visitation evenings at York Mannor Nursing Home and was lucky enough to visit the residents between Christmas and New Years. The residents really look forward to the visiting dogs and Abby was super good at visitation last week. She was invited onto a bed and of course she gladly accepted the invitation.
As we begin another New Year, we reflect on the past year and are thankful for the many blessing that we have. We look forward to 2012 and all it has to offer. Until next time......
