TAKE A LOOK AT ME NOW!

We took little Abby to Odell Park for a nice walk this afternoon, given that we are having such nice weather (+2C). When we got home and looked at the pictures we took, we remembered that we took an almost identical picture of her one year ago. In the picture on the left, Abby is about 3.5 months old and the picture on the right she is a big girl....over a year old and all grown up! We stood at the bottom of the hill so Abby could watch the children sliding down towards her. She started to wiggle and jump and wanted so badly to "greet" the children as they came to a stop at the bottom.... There were lots of other doggies at the Park today including a German Shepherd puppy whose owner was obviously trying to practice some basic training. When they saw us approaching with Abby, they turned around and started walking the other way. Probably not sure what would happen when the two doggies met. Too bad because for training purposes, meeting Abby would have been a good experience for a puppy. Then again, maybe the owners had Abby's best interest in mind and thought the meeting may not have been so pleasant for her!

Abby has an appointment at the Vet this Thursday to have a growth removed from her leg. We noticed the "warty like thing" the week before Christmas and made an appointment with the Vet on December 23rd to have it checked out. The Vet examined her and said the lump was nothing serious and told us to soak it a couple of times a day with Epsom salts and if it didn't go away, we could have it removed. We tried the salt soaks (whenever we could get Missy SaucyPants to stay still) but the growth has grown and now she is licking and nibbling at it. We figured before it gets too big and ugly and becomes more difficult to remove, we would get it removed now. We assume that she will have a little cone collar after the mini-surgery to stop her from chewing the stitches, so we will have to make arrangements to take a vacation day on Friday to stay home with her.
