DON'T IT MAKE OUR BROWN EYES BLUE

This is Stuart, he is Abby's first playdate at her home and the play date was a big hit, at least for Abby and we hope for Stuart too! Stuart is a purebred Australian Shepherd who belongs to Alice, a friend from church. Abby likes to learn from other doggies and Stuart taught Abby to "bring the ball back" so that someone could throw the ball again.

We think that Abby is pretty much full grown but every time someone sees her they tell us that she is "getting bigger" so who really knows. She is about 55 pounds of solid muscle and all of the puppy pudge is gone....sniff....sniff.

Abby attended the 16th Annual Bark in the Park fundraising event for the Fredericton SPCA last weekend http://www.frederictonspca.ca/. She made a puppy paw print painting which will hang in Mamma's office and had a great time visiting with all the other doggies. Abby is very social and we never have to worry about how she will behave in situations like the Bark in the Park where there are many dogs, people, children and music.

Abby continues to like her morning walk but sometimes a bit of the devil comes out! This was the case last week where Miss Abby did a jump forward/slide back/side to side and presto....out of her collar and FREE to run! Much to the horror of Mamma who stood holding a leash and collar, Abby did the 50 meter dash all over someones newly seeded front lawn and was eventually trapped when she ran up onto an enclosed deck. Phew...Mamma's heart was in her throat for a few seconds. The amusing thing was, that Abby clearly remembered how she maneuvered the "slip from the collar trick" and tried it a couple of more times during the same walk! Smart, very smart! Needless to say Abby now sports a very nice and secure harness during her morning walks.

We had a family sleep over with Abby at doggie Pipers house in Moncton last weekend. While the adults played golf, the four legged girls stayed home and amused each other. After golf we enjoyed a BBQ and a nice evening with friends and once again, Abby just played around and visited everyone at the BBQ. Until next time......
