JEES, I HOPE THEY DON'T SEE ME IN HERE!

What dog? Do you see a dog in the day lily bed? No, I don't see a dog! Just stand still and no one will even notice!
Little Abby was caught red-handed wandering IN the lily bed! We have been wondering if the rain had been knocking all the day lilies down but no... the problem has been a curious little tan four legged creature. The flower beds are taking a hit this Summer not only with the unusual amount of rain but also due to Abby's lack of respect for garden borders!
We went to the Vet office to purchase some cat food last week so we decided to take Abby inside to get her weighed....oh my stars....she weighs 58 pounds! She turned 9 months old on July 1st so should almost be finished growing, we think. We know she is getting big but she is still quite small compared to most of the dogs that she plays with at the dog park. She was quite interested in a large black 6 year old Labrador Retriever named Buddy last night or should I say he was interested in her! We stayed extra long at the dog park last night because Abby and all of the other dogs were getting along very well... probably because there was just the right number of dogs...around 4 or 5 small dogs and about 8 or 9 large dogs, any more than that it can get a bit crazy.
We have not provided an update on Abby's feline siblings lately! The cat situation has still not been resolved. Moses, the 10 year old tabby cat, has decided to brave the situation and arrives in the kitchen and rec room on a regular basis be it mostly greeted with an "hey do you want to play with me" dive from Abby doggie. We scoop him up and provide a safe place until Abby moves along to something else. Moses' need for love outweighs his fright of the Brown Monster! Molly, the 13 year old long-haired brownish coloured cat, would be the next bravest feline. She is sighted downstairs from time to time but never hangs around for the "hello, do YOU want to play" as she runs upstairs with the mere jingle of the Brown Monsters dog tags! Simon, the 7 year old solid grey cat, is never anywhere near the dog and is still hoping that Abby will be going back where she came from...and soon! It is getting a bit better but we have a long way to go with the cat dog relationship.
We worked outside most of the weekend and Abby kept us entertained by running away with our work stuff. First she snagged the carpenter pencil and took off....we chased her as she darted all around us, zipping here and there only stopping to look at us at a safe distance. Just when we would almost reach her.....off again! She repeated this trick several times during the day causing some delays in the work schedule! She even tried taking off with the little garden hand trowel and was almost successful except it was rather heavy and she could not get a good run going because the metal tool was swinging from side to side making the get-away difficult. She likes to be apart of everything and in fact she has a nice green stripe down her side because she HAD to inspect the stain job I was working on and NEEDED to get close.
We love her and can not imagine how boring life would be without her daily shenanigans. Until next time....
