This was our very first picture of Abby, taken just seconds after she was escorted from the "stage coach" that carried her from Arkansas. You can see that the little princess looks pretty darn happy to be "let loose". It is hard to believe that was only one week ago because we feel like she has been a part of our family longer than that. The week has been both magical and challenging all at the same time. She has a wonderful, loving, gentle personality yet she is full of puppy with lots of learning yet to do. She has been for a few rides in the car, to the Vet, to the Park, visited canine friends and human friends too and has received many nice new puppy gifts. Unfortunately it has been extremely cold since Wednesday so time outside has been very limited to "business" only (-34C). Her feline siblings continue to have a good sense of humour about her presence but we think she may be starting to tread on thin ice. Abby only wants to play but the cats don't stick around long enough to find out what her true intentions are, they run and she chases.....and the beat goes on! We are convinced that the three cats sit in front of her kennel when we are at work, taunting her with "see who is laughing now Missy"! Today, we purchased a new baby gate to block her from going upstairs by herself. She loves to "check out" the cats when they least expect it and she also loves to lug laundry downstairs to show off her hunting abilities. Abby loves to be held, touched, talked to and is very affectionate in return giving lots of warm licks to anyone who is willing to have their face wet from puppy kisses. As we write this update, she has just finished playing hard and has stretched out in front of the window with her head on her toy sleeping. She is probably dreaming of Arkansas and warmer weather. LOL
Until next time...
